Stop the Carnage

News has broken that the monster trawler has caught a whale shark - yes, the biggest fish in the ocean. That's how giant these monster trawlers are and why we have to stop them, before they vacuum up our fish stocks and beautiful marine life.

Please take a second to send a message to the Parliamentary Inquiry that all factory trawlers need to be banned. Tell them how you personally feel about these monster trawlers cleaning out Australia's oceans of fish and protected marine life like the majestic whale shark.

If we do not curtail senseless corporate greed, extinction of many species will occur that will eventually cause human extinction!

Why is this still allowed to happen,in 50yrs there will be nothing left in the sea, these trawlers will have killed everything,it is a disgrace in the 21st century with the technology we have now that this still allowed to continue, there is no need for it,between the Chinese,Japanese,Russia, and the rest of the could not care less countries, who kill anything in the sea or on four legs to torture and kill this world is going backwards with mob rule and we can do as we please attitude which seem to be the case when animals are concerned.

As a recreational fisherman, we have a bag limit & size limit on most species. We also have marine parks where we are not allowed to fish, which put a lot of small trawling boats out of business. Why is it then, that we allow the Geelong Star to blatantly rape our ocean? Makes me wonder who’s taking bribes, because we’re way to educated in this day & age to allow this.

This ocean ecosystem once destroyed, it is gone. Please take your responsibility seriously, resist corporate pressure and act for the Australian people and their environment.

geelong star is depleting the oceans around australia of all varieties of fish, and as elections are due there are tens of thousand amateur fishermen in every state and they will be thinking about your policy on pelagic fish

this needs too be stopped now. for goodness sake politicians need to take a stand against this sort of exploitation of our oceans instead of bowing down too companies etc who have the most money to throw in their direction
